Congratulations to Mrs. Amanda Cook and Ms. Whitney Otto!
Mrs. Cook was nominated by Sadie Gander and Grady Gander for always being someone that students can go to. She is always willing to help and answer any questions we have. Every morning, she always makes sure to welcome students and staff into the building with a smile. You can always walk into her room to talk, even if it's nothing important. Mrs. Cook truly makes everyone's day better just by her little acts of kindness.
Ms. Otto was nominated by Mrs. Carrie Greenwell. Mrs. Greenwell states, Whitney can do anything! She takes whatever challenge I give her willingly. This year she has learned so many new things being in 3rd Grade full-time. She takes tier and accelerated reading groups, math groups, and writing groups; is in charge of certain daily routines, keeps me going with copies, helps me keep track of missing work, takes care of the kids at recess, manages progress monitoring, implements intervention Read-First lessons, communicates well with me, and does a lot of grading! She's also learning math in a whole new way and discovering phonics again. Her patience is growing daily, and the kids love her! I am extremely grateful to have her and overjoyed to have gotten her drafted to the 3rd Grade Team. She pushes us along and keeps the learning rolling. She is an MVP and MVT!

Maren was nominated by Mrs. Jackson for always putting so much time and effort into her work. She asks questions when she needs help and always does more than expected! Nathan was nominated by Mrs. Cook and Mr. Stoneburner for demonstrating a high level of responsibility, respectfulness, and thoughtfulness towards his teachers and classmates throughout the school year. He is kind, considerate, and takes responsibility for his academic work as well.

Championship Day!
Both Varsity teams will play for the Meadville Tournament Championship today! Girls play Grundy County at 5pm with Boys against Meadville to follow.
Bus leaves at 2:30.
FBLA held a Raider Closet event today. Students have the chance to take any type of Raider Gear they can find for free. This is made possible by local donations of gently used clothing by our students, staff, and community!

Varsity Basketball travels back to the Meadville Tournament for semifinal action tonight. Boys play Hale at 5:45pm with girls following against Meadville.
HS Scholar Bowl will compete at the WGEM Academic Challenge tomorrow at JWCC. Bus will leave at 7am instead of the previously stated 7:15am in the bulletin

There will be no concessions at the JV game tonight.
The JV girls and boys will play at Highland tomorrow night at 6pm. They will also play Highland at home next Thursday, February 5th at 6pm.
North Shelby will be in session tomorrow and will run hard surfaces only until further notice.
Varsity Basketball teams play in the Meadville Tournament today. Girls play at 4:30pm against Hale, Boys follow against Tina-Avalon.

Due to poor road conditions, North Shelby will not be in session tomorrow, January 27th.
The games at Meadville Tournament has been postponed for today. An updated bracket will be sent out when available.

North Shelby would like to congratulate Ally Rich for breaking the all-time 3pt made in a career record for the Lady Raider Basketball Program with her 2nd 3pt made of 4 total last night against La Plata!
The previous record was 156 held by Natalie Thrasher. Ally is up to 159 and will look to add more this season!
