Teachers of the Month!
Congratulations to Mrs. Nastav and the Lunch Ladies!
Mrs. Nastav was nominated by Ms. Trivette for keeping our school running, and says that we would be lost without her as our secretary! She welcomes everyone into the building with smile on her face, and helps them with what they need. LaNise is always willing to help with teachers out with copies, laminating, and cutting things out. All while answering phones, emails, and getting kids where they need to be. She also fills in as the nurse when Nurse Maupin is not here. LaNise is amazing at her job, and we all love her!
The Lunch Ladies were nominated by several teachers for going above and beyond their duties. Not only do they work hard to provide nutritious meals that fuel the learning of each student, but their kindness and love for each student is very apparent as they serve them both their lunch and breakfast. They are always smiling and laughing, and happy to see the kids come through the line. From muffins, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy to soup day, meatballs, and tacos, the kitchen staff makes meal time fun and enjoyable as they interact with the students, always singing to them on their birthday and making them feel special. On our lucky days, we may even get spoiled with an interpretive dance! The kitchen staff puts a lot of time into decorating the cafeteria, making it a fun and inviting environment for the students. We are truly blessed with our wonderful lunch ladies and they truly are heroes!

High School Students of the Week!
Congratulations to James Love and Stone Force!
James was nominated by Mr. Davis for being very helpful in the greenhouse and took it upon himself to help clean. Stone was nominated by Mr. Stoneburner for walking down the hallway and picking up quite a bit of trash on the ground beside the lockers, instead of just passing by, Stone stopped and picked up all the trash and threw it away, and did it all with a smile on his face.

North Shelby Elementary is sponsoring the Mark Twain Challenge in partnership with the Missouri Humanities and with support from the Missouri Humanities Trust Fund. Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students who read four Mark Twain Nominee books this year had the opportunity to attend the Children's Literature Festival in Wareensburg today. They got to hear authors Natalie Lloyd and Varsha Bajaj speak. It was a fun day for all!
